Not Very Stimulating: 49 of 50 States Have Lost Jobs Since The $787,000,000,000.00 Stimulus Package Passed

From the House Ways and Means Committee:

"The table below compares the White House's February 2009 projection of the number of jobs that would be created by the 2009 stimulus law (through the end of 2010) with the actual change in state payroll employment through September 2009 (the latest figures available). According to the data, 49 States and the District of Columbia have lost jobs since stimulus was enacted. Only North Dakota has seen net job creation following the February 2009 stimulus. While President Obama claimed the result of his stimulus bill would be the creation of 3.5 million jobs, the Nation has already lost a total of 2.7 million – a difference of 6.2 million jobs. To see how stimulus has failed your state, see the table below."

I think that this in unneeded for our economy. In less than a year we have lost already millions of jobs. So what does the next year have to come. We are not doing anything to prevent us from going deeper into this whole. Obama could be doing things to make our lives better but i dont think he is doing so. You think he would do something different if what he expected went the oppposite way, but were stilling going down. This isnt only making our ecomony worse and worse but peoples lives are being at a risk and we are suffering. Hopefully someone will be smart about this situation and help us out.

I agree with what the previous person has stated. Clearly since the economy is doing so terrible something should change in how we're (meaning the United States government) handling the economy. I believe that Obama had the right idea of creating the stimulus law, however, the results (after the law had been enacted) are horrifying. Only North Dakota has had more jobs opportunities while the other 49 states and the District of Columbia have done poorly. Luckily I am a student right now going on to college next year so the failure of the stimulus law hasn't really affected me. At the same time, I am concerned with Minnesota having -56,100 actual jobs in September 2009.
