Don't Worry, Your Never McFar...

...from a McDonalds restaruant, if you are in the US. The fartest distance between McDonalds in the continental 48 states is 145 miles.

"between the tiny Dakotan hamlets of Meadow and Glad Valley lies the McFarthest Spot: 107 miles distant from the nearest McDonald’s, as the crow flies, and 145 miles by car!"

This article just justifies how fat america really is. THe need for mcdonalds to have its farthest distence as only 145 miles apart is disguisting.

Amerians realiance on fast food is only increasing due to the bad economy. People are buying unhealthy food because the price is so low, but in the long run destroying their bodies. After reading this article i think it would be a wise decesion for the government to create healthy low cost food in order to improve AMERICA!!

Wow that's a lot of MD's.
I agree with Anonymous, the increasing economy is driving people to buy cheaper and unhealthy food. I mean, i seriously saw an item on Burger King's menu that had 15 grams of transfats. bleah. There should be more healthier choices. Sure, they have salads at McDonalds, but they're like 3 or 4 dollars, whereas the cheeseburgers are 1 dollar. Its a bad combination.

Look at the correlation between the unemployment rate in one of the photos above this one with the McDonalds photo.

Where unemployment is the highest, McDonalds is thriving. Americans want the cheap way out of everything, even for food. We'd risk our health so our wallets wont have to suffer.

This is a very harsh map of the United States. It really shows that American citizens are not taking their health very seriously because they are all putting enough money into businesses like McDonalds to allow it to expand as much as this. The only real advantage to this is that there are jobs being created.

I agree with people that previously commented on this post. My conclusion from this map is that America truly is holding out to the title of most obese country. It is downright disgusting that Mc.Donald's is everywhere. This market economy is clearly doing well because there are so many of them, and like RW said it's cheap therefore the demand is high during the recession American's are facing right now.
